An Uber driver in Delhi has asked customers on the platform if they have to take the cab service as it has a fare discount, which he has no way of knowing if it is a standard fare or a premium fare.
The driver posted the question on a post on the Uber forum after an Uber driver allegedly threatened to kill his passenger on a Delhi-Haryana flight.
Uber has not responded to The Indian Express’s request for comment.
The post has since been deleted.
The driver has also said that the discount is a “standard fare” that is not included in the fare, which would mean that the fare is not “premium” as per the fare structure.
The fare is only $2.50 on the app, which is why the driver said the rider would have to “take a premium” fare to get the discount.
Uber has since apologised for the post and promised to take “immediate action” against the driver.
