The data, released on Thursday, showed that more than 2.4 billion Android devices were running Google Play games and up to 3.3 billion games and songs were available for download.
This includes games from both the Google Play and Apple App Store.
The Android App Store, with over 1.5 billion games, topped the charts with more than 1.6 billion apps, followed by Apple’s App Store with more 0.8 billion apps and Google Play with 0.7 billion apps.
Microsoft has been the leader in downloading Android apps from the Google Store.
The company has more than 700 million apps available for Android devices and is in second place with more 1.3 million apps, comScore said.
Microsoft, meanwhile, has nearly 1 billion apps available on its own App Store for its Windows Phone and Windows 8 apps, according the report.
Apple’s Appstore has more apps available to download on the App Store than on any other platform.
It has more games, movies, music, books and apps available than Amazon and Google, comStat said.
Amazon and Microsoft have more than 500 million apps for iOS devices.
ComScore said the average price of Android apps on the Google Appstore is $1.65, compared with $1 per $1 of apps on Apple’s iTunes App Store at $1, according in the report, published by comScore for The Wall Street Journal.
comScore added that Apple and Microsoft are also more popular in the US, with more downloads than Android users in the two regions combined.
